The MICRO 100 BB-180750S is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal turning and bore finishing operations on CNC and manual lathes. It features a 0.18 inch minimum bore diameter and a 0.75 inch maximum bore depth, making it well suited for small-diameter bore work where rigidity and surface finish are critical. The right-hand cutting direction suits standard lathe configurations. With a 0.25 inch shank diameter and a 2.5 inch overall length, this bar fits common small-bore toolholders and quick-change systems without modification. Solid carbide construction provides the stiffness needed to minimize deflection and chatter in tight bore applications.
This boring bar is intended for use in precision machining environments including job shops, tool rooms, and production cells running small-diameter components in steel, aluminum, stainless, and non-ferrous alloys. It is a single-piece solid carbide design, meaning there are no brazed or indexable insert joints that can introduce runout or weakness at small diameters. Typical applications include finishing bored holes in bushings, hydraulic components, and precision housings where dimensional tolerance and surface finish must be held consistently across production runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-fit boring bar for toolholders accepting a 0.25 inch round shank, suitable for CNC lathes and manual turning centers running small-diameter internal operations.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or adjusting the boring bar in the toolholder. Ensure the shank is properly seated and clamped to the toolholder manufacturer's specifications before resuming cutting operations. Inspect the bar for chipping or wear before each use, as carbide tooling can fail without visible warning if subjected to interrupted cuts or excessive overhang beyond recommended depth-to-diameter ratios.
