The MESTEK hsb08411 is a horizontal hydronic and steam unit heater rated at 61,000 BTU/h output at 200 degrees F inlet water temperature. It uses a copper tube heat exchanger and moves 580 CFM through a fan-guarded assembly driven by a 61-watt, 120-volt totally enclosed motor with a built-in thermal overload protector. Connections are 1-1/4 inch FPT on both inlet and outlet. Maximum allowable working pressure is 150 psi. The unit ships at 47 pounds. It is installed by licensed HVAC or mechanical contractors in commercial and industrial heating applications where hot water or steam distribution is already in place.
This unit heater is designed for horizontal mounting in warehouses, garages, loading docks, workshops, and similar spaces where overhead or wall-mounted forced-air heating from a hydronic or steam boiler system is required. The horizontal airflow pattern distributes heat across floor-level work areas. At 61,000 BTU/h and 580 CFM, it suits mid-size commercial or industrial spaces. The totally enclosed motor is appropriate for dusty or moderately demanding environments typical of these installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct application unit heater for horizontal hydronic or steam heating systems operating within 150 psi maximum working pressure and supplying 120-volt power to the fan motor.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC or mechanical contractor in accordance with local mechanical codes and IFGC or applicable boiler and pressure vessel regulations. Shut off and depressurize the hydronic or steam supply line and disconnect electrical power before connecting or servicing the unit. Pipe connections should be made with appropriate thread sealant rated for steam or hot water service. Do not exceed the 150 psi maximum working pressure rating of the unit.
