The MERSEN GSA12 is a miniature ceramic tube fuse rated for 12 amps at 250 volts AC with time-delay characteristics. The time-delay design allows brief inrush currents to pass without nuisance opening, making it well suited for electronic circuits and loads with high startup currents. The cylindrical, non-rejection body is constructed from ceramic and measures 1.25 inches in length and 0.25 inches in diameter. Ferrule-style terminals with nickel-plated brass contacts provide reliable clip-mount installation. Interrupting rating is 750 amps at 250 VAC and 10 kiloamps at 125 VAC. The GSA12 carries both UL and CSA approvals for use in North American applications.
The GSA12 is intended for use in electronic equipment, control panels, and circuit boards where overcurrent protection is required on high-current branches. The time-delay characteristic suits applications where motor starts, transformer inrush, or capacitor charging create temporary current spikes above the rated value. Clip-style mounting fits standard fuse holders designed for the 0.25-inch by 1.25-inch form factor commonly found in residential and light commercial electronic control assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for miniature ceramic tube fuses in the standard 0.25-inch by 1.25-inch form factor used in electronic control circuits and clip-mount fuse holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician or electronics technician in accordance with the NEC and applicable equipment manufacturer guidelines. Always de-energize and lockout the circuit before removing or installing a fuse. Verify that the replacement fuse matches the original current rating, voltage rating, and time-delay characteristics specified on the equipment nameplate. Do not substitute a fast-act fuse where a time-delay type is specified, as this can result in nuisance openings on inrush-heavy circuits.
