The MERIT BRASS XB102-04 is a Class 125 brass pipe fitting with female NPT connections on both ends. It accepts a 1/4 inch pipe and is used to join two threaded pipe runs in low-pressure plumbing, HVAC hydronic lines, compressed air systems, and general fluid-handling applications. The all-brass construction resists corrosion in both potable water and light industrial service environments. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the primary installers. At 0.1133 pounds, it is compact and straightforward to work into tight manifold or service-valve assemblies.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial installations wherever two female-threaded pipe ends need to be connected at 1/4 inch pipe size. Typical use cases include water supply branch lines, gauge ports, instrument taps, air compressor ancillary lines, and hydronic system test points. Its Class 125 pressure rating makes it appropriate for standard-duty, non-shock service in water, oil, and air systems within the pressure limits of the class designation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1/4 inch female BSP tapered threaded pipe systems operating within Class 125 pressure ratings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off system pressure and drain the line before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before engagement. Do not overtighten brass fittings, as the material can crack under excessive torque.
