The MERIT BRASS SW3611HD-02 is a 316 stainless steel pipe half coupling designed for socket weld connections in high-pressure piping systems. Rated at 3,000 psi, this fitting accepts a 1/8 inch pipe and is used to join a pipe end to a vessel, valve body, or other component where only one end requires a socket weld connection. The 316 stainless steel construction provides corrosion resistance in demanding environments, including exposure to chlorides and process chemicals. Plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians install this fitting where pressure integrity and material compatibility are critical.
This half coupling is suited for use in high-pressure fluid and gas piping systems in both commercial and industrial settings. Typical applications include chemical processing lines, instrumentation hookups, steam systems, and hydraulic piping where a 1/8 inch socket weld connection point is required. The compact size makes it common in tight manifold assemblies and equipment tie-ins. Its 3,000 psi pressure rating qualifies it for Class 3000 fittings service per standard piping specifications.
Designed as an OEM-style socket weld half coupling for 1/8 inch Class 3000 high-pressure piping systems using 316 stainless steel components.
Installation should be performed by a qualified pipefitter or welder in accordance with applicable codes, including ASME B16.11 for socket weld fittings. Isolate and depressurize the system completely before cutting into any existing piping. Socket weld joints require proper gap spacing between pipe end and fitting socket shoulder prior to welding to allow for thermal expansion. Post-weld inspection and pressure testing should be completed per facility or project specifications before returning the system to service.
