The MERIT BRASS MB33010 is a 3/4-inch copper press union fitting designed for push-to-connect installation in pressurized plumbing systems. It joins two sections of copper pipe without soldering, making it well suited for repair and retrofit work where open-flame tools are restricted or impractical. The fitting is rated to 300 psi maximum working pressure and handles temperatures from 0 degrees F to 250 degrees F, covering the full range of domestic hot and cold water service. The outside diameter measures 1.252 inches. Lead-free construction meets drinking water contact requirements under NSF-61/372. Licensed plumbers are the primary installers, though the push-to-connect design is also used by mechanical contractors on commercial hydronic systems.
This union fitting is appropriate for residential and light commercial plumbing applications including potable water supply lines, hydronic heating distribution, and in-wall or under-slab copper pipe repairs where torch use is not permitted. The press-style end connection simplifies union service: the pipe sections can be disconnected and reconnected without cutting out a soldered fitting. Installations must comply with local plumbing codes and the relevant IAPMO PS117 press-fitting standard. The fitting ships individually, one piece per package.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation press union for 3/4-inch copper pipe systems in residential and commercial plumbing applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off and depressurize the water supply line and verify the pipe end is clean, deburred, and within the allowable out-of-round tolerance before pressing. A calibrated press tool approved for the fitting series is required to achieve a proper seal — do not substitute pliers or uncertified tooling. Confirm all connections hold pressure before closing the system.
