The MERIT ABRASIVES 69957399727 is a 3-inch aluminum oxide quick-change abrasive disc designed for use with TR (Type III) and Type R quick-change attachment systems on handheld disc sanders. Rated at 240 grit (very fine grade), the disc features a Y-weight 2-ply polyester backing that provides rigidity and durability under demanding service conditions. The coated brown cloth construction delivers a faster cut rate and extended disc life compared to lighter backing weights. Maximum operating speed is 20,000 RPM. Licensed tradespeople and shop professionals use this disc for precision finishing, deburring, and surface conditioning on a range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
This disc is suited for surface preparation and finishing work on 300 series stainless steel, brass, bronze, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, and titanium. It performs well in fabrication shops, field service, and maintenance environments where a rigid, fast-cutting very fine disc is needed for detail work, edge cleanup, and light stock removal on metal substrates.
