The MERIT ABRASIVES 69957399614 is a coated quick-change abrasive disc engineered for handheld disc sanders in metalworking applications. It uses a Power-Lock Type 2 (TS Type II) attaching system with a Type S button mount for fast tool-free disc changes. The disc measures 1 inch in diameter and features 36-grit aluminum oxide on a rigid, X-weight 2-ply cloth and polyester backing. At a maximum rated speed of 40,000 RPM, it is built for aggressive stock removal and deburring on hard and soft metals. Licensed metalworking shops, fabrication facilities, and maintenance trades use this disc for surface preparation and cleaning tasks.
This disc is suited for deburring, cleaning, and detailing operations on 300 and 400 series stainless steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, and titanium. The very coarse 36-grit grade makes it appropriate for initial material removal, weld cleanup, and edge breaking on both ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. It is designed for use with handheld disc sanders equipped with a compatible TS (Type II) quick-change arbor. The small 1-inch diameter allows access to tight areas and contoured surfaces that larger discs cannot reach.
Designed for handheld disc sanders equipped with a TS (Type II) Type S quick-change arbor. Compatible material applications include 300 Series Stainless, 400 Series Stainless, Aluminum, Brass, Bronze, Hard Carbon Steels, Soft Carbon Steels, and Titanium.
Installation and disc changes are performed by metalworking trades and fabricators using standard quick-change arbor tools. Always confirm the spindle speed of the tool does not exceed the 40,000 RPM maximum disc rating before mounting. Power down and disconnect the tool from its power source before swapping discs. Wear appropriate eye and face protection during all grinding and deburring operations in accordance with applicable ANSI safety standards.
