The MERIT ABRASIVES 66623340049 is a 2-inch quick-change abrasive disc designed for surface conditioning, blending, and finishing work on metal and composite materials. Built with an aluminum oxide abrasive grain on a high-loft nylon fiber backing, this disc carries a Very Fine grade rating and is rated to a maximum of 20,000 RPM in actual use. The Type R attaching system allows fast, tool-free disc swaps on compatible die grinders and inline grinders. Clean Bond resin technology helps prevent smearing and loading on finished surfaces, making it well suited for final-pass blending and light material removal tasks.
This disc is intended for use on a range of ferrous and specialty metals including 300 and 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, super alloys, and titanium, as well as fiberglass and composite substrates. Compatible machines include die grinders, handheld disc sanders, inline grinders, and straight grinders. It is commonly used by fabricators, welders, and metalworkers performing blending, deburring, and surface prep operations where a smear-free finish is required.

Installation is performed by metalworkers and fabricators using standard die grinder or inline grinder tooling. Before mounting or removing the disc, ensure the grinder is fully powered down and disconnected from its air or electrical source. Verify the spindle attachment is a Type R quick-change receptacle before seating the disc. Do not exceed the maximum rated RPM of the disc or the tool, whichever is lower.
