The MERIT ABRASIVES 66623340040 is a 4-inch quick-change abrasive disc built for surface conditioning and finishing on metal and composite materials. It uses aluminum oxide grain on a flexible non-woven polyester and nylon web backing, rated to a maximum of 15,000 RPM. The Type S attaching system allows fast disc swaps without additional hardware. Medium grade makes it suited for moderate material removal, blending, and surface prep. This disc is installed and used by metal fabricators, maintenance techs, and industrial tradespeople working on grinders and handheld disc sanders.
This disc is designed for use on 300 and 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, super alloys, titanium, and fiberglass and composite materials. It is compatible with die grinders, inline grinders, straight grinders, and handheld disc sanders. The flexible non-woven construction allows the disc to conform to irregular or contoured surfaces, making it practical for weld blending, deburring, and light stock removal in fabrication and maintenance applications.
Compatible with die grinders, inline grinders, straight grinders, and handheld disc sanders accepting a Type S quick-change attachment system. Suitable for use on 300 series stainless, 400 series stainless, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, tool steels, super alloys, titanium, and fiberglass and composite materials.
Install and remove the disc according to the tool manufacturer instructions for Type S quick-change systems. Verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 15,000 RPM maximum rating before operating. Wear appropriate eye protection and follow applicable ANSI and OSHA personal protective equipment requirements. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and discard any disc that shows tears, fraying, or deformation.
