The MERIT ABRASIVES 66261022000 is a non-woven aluminum oxide quick-change disc designed for surface conditioning, blending, and finishing on metal and composite workpieces. Built on a flexible polyester and nylon web backing, this 3/4-inch diameter disc attaches via a TS (Type II) Type S quick-change system and is rated to 40,000 RPM. The medium-grade aluminum oxide grain delivers a moderate cut rate, while the high-loft nylon fiber construction extends disc life. Clean Bond resin technology helps prevent smearing and loading during use. Weighing just 0.01 pounds, it is suited for tight-clearance and detail grinding applications.
This disc is intended for use on 300 and 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, super alloys, titanium, and fiberglass and composite materials. It is compatible with die grinders, handheld disc sanders, inline grinders, and straight grinders. The flexible backing conforms to contoured surfaces, making it well-suited for weld blending, surface prep, and light deburring tasks in fabrication, aerospace, and maintenance environments. Sold individually, it fits one-at-a-time replacement workflows.
Compatible with die grinders, handheld disc sanders, inline grinders, and straight grinders that accept a TS (Type II) Type S quick-change attachment system. Rated for use on 300 series stainless, 400 series stainless, fiberglass and composites, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, and tool steels.
Installation is performed by fabricators, maintenance technicians, and metalworkers using grinders equipped with a TS Type S quick-change mandrel. Ensure the grinder is powered off and air supply is disconnected before changing discs. Confirm the tool's rated RPM meets or exceeds 40,000 RPM before mounting. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and do not exceed the maximum rated speed.
