The MERIT ABRASIVES 08834132011 is a threaded-mount flap wheel designed for precision surface finishing and deburring on metal and other hard materials. Built with a ceramic alumina coated abrasive on a cloth backing, this wheel delivers consistent cut and long service life compared to standard aluminum oxide alternatives. At 180 grit, it falls in the very fine grade range, making it well suited for light stock removal, blending, and final surface prep. The threaded mount provides a secure, vibration-resistant connection to compatible spindle tooling. Maximum rated speed is 25,000 RPM, and the face width measures 0.5 inches.
This mounted flap wheel is used in metalworking, fabrication, and finishing applications where controlled surface contact is required. It is commonly used by machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians working on tight geometries, bore interiors, contoured surfaces, and weld seams. The very fine 180 grit rating makes it appropriate for finishing passes rather than aggressive material removal. It is sold individually and is suitable for use with pneumatic or electric die grinders fitted with the appropriate threaded spindle adapter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use mounted flap wheel for die grinders and rotary tools equipped with a compatible threaded spindle mount. Verify spindle thread size before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the die grinder or rotary tool is powered off and disconnected from the air supply or electrical source before mounting or removing the wheel. Thread the wheel securely onto the spindle and confirm it is fully seated before operation. Never exceed the 25,000 RPM maximum rated speed, and always wear appropriate eye and face protection during use.
