The MEAD MV-50 is a mechanically operated 3-way pilot valve designed for pneumatic control applications. It uses a fingertip lever actuator to manually direct airflow between ports, making it a practical choice for machine control, tooling circuits, and pilot-signal switching in industrial or commercial pneumatic systems. The valve features a 1/8 inch NPT inlet, a Cv rating of 0.110, and a maximum working pressure of 120 psi. It operates in 2 positions and handles up to 115 degrees F. Pneumatic system technicians and industrial maintenance professionals are the typical installers for this type of component.
The MV-50 is suited for use in pneumatic control circuits where a compact, manually actuated 3-way valve is needed to shift pilot signals or direct low-flow air paths. Its 1/8 inch NPT porting makes it compatible with small-bore pneumatic tubing and fittings commonly found in automation panels, fixture tooling, and fluid power control assemblies. The fingertip lever provides direct tactile actuation without requiring electrical power or solenoid coils, which simplifies wiring and reduces circuit complexity in manual or semi-automated systems.
Designed as an OEM-style mechanically operated pilot valve for use in standard 1/8 inch NPT pneumatic control circuits and fluid power systems requiring a 3-way, 2-position directional valve.
Installation should be performed by a qualified pneumatic or fluid power technician familiar with compressed air system safety. Depressurize the pneumatic circuit completely before removing or installing any valve components. Ensure NPT threads are properly sealed with thread sealant tape or compound rated for pneumatic service. Verify system pressure does not exceed the 120 psi maximum working pressure rating of the valve.
