The MCR SAFETY 39100S is a flame-resistant fabric welding cape sleeve designed to protect the arms and shoulders of workers during welding and cutting operations. This cape sleeve is constructed from FR fabric that resists ignition and self-extinguishes when the heat source is removed, reducing burn injury risk in hot-work environments. It is sized for small frames and sold individually. Welders, fabricators, and industrial maintenance technicians rely on this type of PPE where arc flash, spatter, and slag are routine hazards on the job.
The 39100S is suited for use in manufacturing facilities, fabrication shops, shipyards, and field maintenance operations where overhead or positional welding exposes the arms and upper body to sparks and spatter. It is appropriate for MIG, TIG, stick, and oxy-fuel cutting applications. The cape sleeve style provides extended coverage over the shoulders and upper back compared to standard sleeve guards, making it a practical choice for overhead work where standard sleeves leave gaps in coverage.
Designed as an OEM-style PPE accessory for use in standard welding and hot-work applications requiring FR arm and shoulder protection.
Cape sleeves are donned and secured before beginning any welding or cutting operation. Ensure all ignition sources are identified and that the cape sleeve fully covers the intended area before striking an arc or lighting a torch. Inspect the garment for damage, burn-through, or degraded FR treatment before each use, and remove from service if integrity is compromised. Consult applicable OSHA 1910.252 and ANSI Z49.1 standards for hot-work PPE requirements in your facility.
