The MCGILL 2020112000 is a sealed stud-type cam follower with a hex head, designed for use in industrial motion control and power transmission applications. It features a cylindrical steel roller measuring 0.5 inches in diameter and 0.375 inches wide, supported by a needle roller bearing assembly. The stud diameter is 3/16 inches fractional with a decimal value of 1.9 inches, and the stud length is 5/8 inches (0.625 inches). Thread size is 10-32 with a 1/4-inch thread length. The sealed construction protects the internal bearing from contamination. Licensed millwrights, maintenance mechanics, and industrial technicians install this component in cam-and-follower mechanisms on machinery requiring precise radial load tracking.
This cam follower is suited for use in automated machinery, conveyor systems, indexing mechanisms, and general industrial equipment where a compact stud-mount follower is needed. The hex head allows for direct wrench engagement during installation and adjustment. With a dynamic load capacity of 680 pounds and a static load capacity of 3,514 pounds, it handles moderate radial loads in continuous-duty or intermittent-cycle applications. A rated maximum speed of 11,500 RPM makes it viable in higher-speed cam track and rail-follower setups common in light manufacturing and automation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement stud cam follower; McGill internal reference part number CF 1/2 SB. Verify stud diameter, thread size, roller diameter, and load ratings against the original equipment specification before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified maintenance technician or millwright. De-energize and lock out all power to the machine before removing or installing cam followers. Use an appropriately sized wrench on the hex head to achieve proper seating without over-torquing the stud. Confirm thread engagement and roller clearance within the cam track or guide rail before returning the machine to service.
