The MCDANIEL METALS PL191/2X193/4X36-R6 is a fabricated galvanized sheet metal plenum measuring 19.5 inches wide by 19.75 inches deep by 36 inches tall, built to R6 insulation specification in 26-gauge galvanized steel. This no-flange plenum is designed to connect air handling equipment to duct distribution systems in forced-air HVAC installations. The R6 insulation value reduces heat gain and loss across the plenum body, supporting system efficiency in both heating and cooling applications. HVAC sheet metal installers and mechanical contractors are the primary trades working with this component.
This plenum is suited for residential and light commercial forced-air systems where a custom-fabricated, insulated supply or return plenum is required. The no-flange configuration is specified when field connections will be made with drive cleats, slip joints, or other field-fabricated transitions rather than factory-flanged attachments. The 26-gauge galvanized construction meets standard duct fabrication practice for interior applications. McDaniel Metals fabricates plenums to order, with options available for ductliner and flange accommodations on other configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style fabricated replacement or new-installation plenum for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC duct systems requiring a 19.5 x 19.75 x 36 inch insulated plenum with R6 value and no-flange termination.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified sheet metal mechanic in accordance with SMACNA duct construction standards and local mechanical code requirements. Disconnect and lock out power to the air handling unit before beginning plenum installation or replacement. Secure all duct connections with appropriate fasteners and seal joints with UL 181-rated mastic or foil tape to maintain system pressure integrity. Do not compress or damage the insulation layer during handling or installation, as this will reduce the effective R-value.
