The mca1/0-1/0-1/0strmr is a Type MC-A (Metal Clad Armored) cable built with three 1/0 AWG stranded copper conductors housed in a continuous aluminum interlocking armor jacket. The three-conductor configuration includes a black phase conductor, a white neutral conductor, and a green ground conductor. This cable is sold cut to length, making it suitable for job-specific runs where standard reel lengths are not required. Type MC-A cable is a standard choice for branch circuit, feeder, and service-entrance wiring in both commercial and industrial electrical installations where a durable, armored wiring method is required by the NEC.
This cable is suited for use in commercial, industrial, and multi-family residential electrical work. It is typically installed in exposed or concealed applications, in dry or damp locations, and in locations where mechanical protection of conductors is required. Licensed electricians specify 1/0 AWG MC-A cable for high-ampacity branch circuit and feeder runs, panel feeders, and equipment connections where rigid or flexible conduit is not preferred. The cut-to-length format reduces material waste on custom or short runs.
Designed as an NEC-compliant Type MC-A armored cable suitable for branch circuit and feeder wiring in commercial, industrial, and multi-family residential electrical systems where a 1/0-1/0-1/0 three-conductor armored cable is specified.
Installation of Type MC-A cable must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 330. De-energize and lock out the circuit or panel before beginning any termination work. MC cable requires listed MC cable connectors and fittings at all enclosure entries — standard conduit fittings are not an approved substitute. Use an appropriate MC cable armor cutter to avoid nicking conductor insulation when removing the armor at termination points.
