The MAZE NAILS H59S530 is a hardened steel fluted masonry nail designed for mechanically fastening building materials directly to masonry and concrete substrates. At 8d sizing and 2.5 inches in length with a 9-gauge wire diameter, these nails deliver the shank strength needed to penetrate block and masonry without bending or deflecting. The fluted shank geometry increases holding power once driven. The 5/16-inch head provides a solid bearing surface against the fastened material. Each box contains approximately 385 nails at a net weight near 5 pounds, giving installers a known quantity for estimating fastener needs on larger jobs.
These masonry nails are used by framing carpenters, general contractors, and finish crews when attaching furring strips, floor plates, and partition wall bottom plates to concrete slabs or masonry block walls. They are a standard choice in basement finishing, commercial build-out framing, and any application where a pressure-treated or standard lumber member meets a concrete or block surface. For best results, nails should be driven no closer than 3 inches from the edge of the masonry or block, with a minimum penetration depth of 0.75 inches into the substrate.
Designed for use in masonry and concrete fastening applications including furring strips, floor plates, and partition wall bottom plates attached to block or poured concrete surfaces.
Masonry nails of this type are driven by a framing hammer or a powder-actuated tool rated for hardened fasteners. Always wear ANSI-rated safety glasses when driving hardened nails, as spalling and fragment ejection are common hazards. Drive nails no closer than 3 inches from any edge of the masonry or block to prevent cracking. Ensure a minimum penetration of 0.75 inches into the substrate for adequate holding strength.
