The MAZE NAILS CMH8112 is a hardened steel tapered masonry nail designed for fastening wood members to cinder block walls and fresh concrete. Sized at 8d with a 2.5-inch length, these nails feature a blunt point and tapered shank that minimize spalling during penetration. That shank geometry also increases pull-out resistance compared to standard wire masonry nails. Each box contains 64 nails weighing approximately 1 pound. Installation is performed by carpenters, general contractors, and masonry tradespeople working on framing and blocking applications where wood meets masonry substrates.
These nails are suited for residential and light commercial construction tasks where wood plates, furring strips, or framing members must be mechanically fastened to concrete block or poured concrete surfaces. A minimum embedment depth of 0.75 inches into the masonry substrate is recommended to achieve rated pull-out performance. They are commonly used during framing, basement finishing, and site-built partition work involving masonry bearing walls.
Designed for use in wood-to-masonry fastening applications including cinder block walls and fresh concrete surfaces typical in residential and light commercial framing.
These nails are driven by hammer or pneumatic hammer drill accessory by a qualified carpenter or masonry tradesperson. Always power down any adjacent electrical systems and wear safety glasses before driving masonry nails, as chips and fragments can dislodge during penetration. A minimum 0.75-inch embedment into the masonry is recommended per the manufacturer. Do not use these nails as a substitute for anchor bolts or threaded fasteners in structural load-bearing connections governed by local building codes.
