The MAZE H61S530 is a hardened steel fluted masonry nail designed for anchoring wood framing, furring strips, and lumber directly into concrete, block, and masonry substrates. At 10d designation and 3 inches in length, these 9-gauge nails are sized for structural and semi-structural fastening tasks where standard wire nails would fail. The fluted shank displaces masonry material as the nail is driven, creating a mechanical interlock that resists pull-out. Each box contains 310 nails and weighs approximately 5 pounds. These fasteners are manufactured in the United States and are a standard choice for carpenters, concrete contractors, and framing crews working on masonry-contact applications.
The H61S530 masonry nail is suited for residential and light commercial construction where treated or untreated lumber is fastened to poured concrete, CMU block, or brick. Common applications include basement wall furring, sill plate fastening, stair stringer attachment, and general wood-to-masonry anchoring. The hardened steel construction allows the nail to be driven with a standard framing hammer or powder-actuated tool without deforming the shank. This nail size and gauge combination is widely used in framing and finish carpentry crews handling wood-to-concrete connections on slab-on-grade and below-grade assemblies.
Designed for use as a standard masonry nail in wood-to-concrete and wood-to-CMU fastening applications. Suitable for use with standard framing hammers in residential and light commercial construction.
Masonry nails are installed by carpenters and concrete framers using a framing hammer or powder-actuated tool rated for masonry fastening. Always wear eye protection when driving masonry nails, as fragments can dislodge from the substrate. Pre-drilling a pilot hole into hard concrete can reduce the risk of nail deflection and substrate cracking. Do not use masonry nails as a substitute for anchor bolts or expansion fasteners where code-mandated holddown capacity is required.
