The MAUDLIN PRODUCTS SSFW309-20-100 is a 309-grade stainless steel tool wrap foil used to protect high-temperature tooling, parts, and assemblies during heat treating, annealing, and furnace cycling operations. At 0.002 inches thick and 20 inches wide, the foil wraps cleanly around parts to create an oxygen-reduced envelope that limits surface oxidation and scaling. It is rated to a maximum temperature of 2100 degrees F, making it suitable for the high-heat cycles commonly encountered in aerospace, industrial heat treating, and precision manufacturing applications. HVAC and industrial service technicians, heat treat specialists, and tool room professionals are the primary installers and users of this material.
This tool wrap foil is applied in heat treat furnaces, atmosphere-controlled ovens, and open-air high-temperature processes where part surface protection is required. The 309 alloy grade provides strong oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures, making it appropriate for ferrous and non-ferrous part protection during hardening and stress-relief cycles. The 100-foot roll length offers sufficient material for multiple wrapping jobs from a single spool, reducing handling and changeover time in high-volume heat treat environments.
Designed for use in heat treating furnaces and high-temperature ovens where stainless steel tool wrap foil rated to 2100 degrees F is required. Suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous parts requiring surface protection during thermal processing cycles.
Tool wrap foil is typically applied by heat treat technicians or toolroom personnel before furnace loading. Ensure the foil is wrapped tightly and edges are folded over to reduce oxygen ingress during the thermal cycle. Cut foil with shears or a straight-edge blade on a clean, flat surface. Follow shop safety procedures and wear appropriate gloves when handling foil edges, as cut stainless steel foil presents sharp-edge hazards.
