The MAUDLIN PRODUCTS SSFW309-10-25 is a 309 stainless steel tool wrap foil used to protect parts and tooling during high-temperature heat treating operations. At 0.002 inches thick and 10 inches wide, this foil wraps tightly around workpieces to shield them from oxidation and scale during furnace cycles. The 309 alloy grade provides strong resistance to high-temperature oxidation, rated to a maximum of 2,100 degrees F. It is commonly used by heat treaters, tool and die shops, and metalworking operations that process high-speed steels, tool steels, and similar alloys in box or atmosphere furnaces.
This tool wrap foil is suited for both production and job-shop environments where consistent, repeatable heat treat results are required. The 25-foot roll length provides enough material for multiple wrapping cycles depending on part size. The 10-inch width accommodates a range of tooling profiles without requiring slitting. Licensed heat treaters and machining shops managing in-house hardening operations are the primary users of this product.
Designed for use as tool wrap foil in high-temperature furnace heat treating applications where oxidation protection of ferrous tooling and workpieces is required up to 2,100 degrees F.
Tool wrap foil is applied by metalworking or heat treat technicians prior to loading parts into a furnace. Wrap workpieces snugly, folding seams to minimize air pockets inside the envelope. Follow your furnace manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when handling parts at elevated temperatures. Use appropriate high-temperature gloves and handling tools when removing wrapped parts from the furnace.
