The MAUDLIN PRODUCTS 002-12-100 is a stainless steel shim stock roll used for precision spacing, alignment, and shimming applications across mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and industrial installations. The roll measures 12 inches wide by 100 inches long at a nominal thickness of 0.0020 inches, with a tight thickness tolerance of plus or minus 0.00001 inches. Produced in 302/304 stainless steel at full hard temper, this material resists corrosion and holds its shape under load. Machinists, millwrights, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters use this roll to set precise clearances, level equipment bases, and fill gaps in assemblies where dimensional accuracy matters.
This shim stock roll is suited for residential and commercial applications wherever controlled material thickness is needed. Common uses include shimming fan assemblies, pump bases, compressor mounts, pipe supports, and equipment pads. The full hard temper provides rigidity that prevents the stock from deforming under clamping or compressive loads. Because the material is non-magnetic 302/304 stainless steel, it is also appropriate in environments sensitive to magnetic interference or where mild corrosion resistance is required. The roll format allows the installer to cut any length needed on the job.
Designed as a general-purpose precision shim stock roll suitable for HVAC equipment mounting, mechanical alignment, and industrial shimming applications requiring 302/304 stainless steel at 0.0020 inch nominal thickness.
Shim stock should be cut using aviation snips, a sharp utility knife, or metal shears appropriate for thin stainless steel - avoid tools that can deform the edges and affect thickness accuracy. De-energize and lock out any equipment before inserting or adjusting shims in rotating or pressurized assemblies, following applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify final assembly clearances with a calibrated micrometer after installation to confirm the shim stack achieves the required tolerance. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling the roll, as thin stainless steel edges are sharp.
