The MATCO-NORCA ibma0504lf is a lead free brass reducer fitting designed to transition from a 1 inch barbed insert connection to a 3/4 inch male iron pipe (MIP) threaded outlet. This fitting is used to reduce pipe size at a threaded joint while maintaining a barbed insert connection on the larger end for use with flexible tubing or poly pipe. The lead free brass construction meets drinking water compliance standards applicable to potable water systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in residential and light commercial water distribution applications.
This reducer is suited for potable water supply lines, irrigation manifolds, and hydronic distribution systems where a barbed insert-to-threaded male transition is needed between 1 inch and 3/4 inch lines. The fitting is commonly installed where flexible poly or PEX-style tubing meets a threaded pipe fitting or valve. It is appropriate for both new construction rough-in and retrofit repair work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard plumbing fitting for residential and light commercial potable water, irrigation, and hydronic piping systems requiring a 1 inch insert to 3/4 inch MIP threaded reducer connection.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing any existing fitting or making new connections. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the MIP threads before assembly. Ensure the barbed insert end is fully seated and secured with a compatible clamp or crimp ring per the tubing manufacturer specifications.
