The MARSON m40212 is a 5052 series aluminum blind rivet designed for non-structural fastening applications across a wide range of light fabrication and assembly work. The rivet body and mandrel are both aluminum, giving it a consistent material profile that resists galvanic incompatibility in aluminum assemblies. It features a button head profile with a 1/8 inch nominal diameter and accepts a grip range of 0.063 to 0.125 inches, making it suitable for thin to mid-range material stacks. The m40212 carries a shear strength of 155 pounds and a tensile strength of 240 pounds. Sheet metal workers, HVAC fabricators, and general tradespeople install this rivet with a standard blind rivet puller.
This rivet fits standard open-end blind rivet applications where disassembly is not required and non-structural holding strength is sufficient. It is commonly used in HVAC ductwork, light gauge sheet metal panels, enclosures, and general assembly where aluminum-to-aluminum or aluminum-to-compatible-substrate fastening is needed. The 0.275 inch body length and 0.129 to 0.133 inch recommended hole diameter make it a straightforward fit for pre-drilled material using a No. 30 drill bit. The plain finish requires no additional preparation before installation.
Designed as an OEM-style open-end blind rivet replacement for non-structural applications requiring a 1/8 inch diameter, button head aluminum rivet with a 0.063 to 0.125 inch grip range.
Install with a standard hand or pneumatic blind rivet puller sized for 1/8 inch rivets. Drill the mating hole to between 0.129 and 0.133 inches using a No. 30 drill bit before installation. Ensure material stack thickness falls within the 0.063 to 0.125 inch grip range to achieve proper mandrel break and head seating. This is a non-structural fastener and should not be used in load-bearing or safety-critical joints.
