The MARSHALLTOWN SC68 is a contractor-grade carbide scoring cutter designed for tradespeople who cut and score hard-to-work sheet materials on the job. At 5.5 inches in length, it features a reversible double-ended carbide blade that can be flipped when one end dulls, effectively doubling the usable life of the cutting tip. The SC68 handles cement backer board, linoleum, plexiglass, and soft tile, and it doubles as a degrouting tool or caulk remover when a dedicated scraper is not on hand.
This cutter is suited for tile setters, flooring installers, and general contractors working on residential and light commercial projects. It fits naturally into a tool pouch alongside trowels and margin knives for any job that involves laying backer board or resilient flooring. The reversible blade design reduces mid-job trips to the supply house for replacement blades, keeping work moving on tight schedules.
Designed as an OEM-style hand tool replacement blade compatible with score-and-snap cutting workflows on cement backer board, linoleum, plexiglass, and soft tile surfaces.
Installation is not required for this hand tool. When using the SC68 for scoring, apply firm, consistent pressure along a straightedge guide to achieve a clean snap line. Keep carbide tips clear of hardened tile or stone surfaces, which can chip the blade prematurely. Reverse the blade to the unused carbide end when scoring performance degrades.
