The MARS mars-10874 is a 5.5-inch Azure Digi-Motor, an electronically commutated motor (ECM) designed to replace a wide range of PSC condenser fan motor applications. Rated for 208-230V operation and spanning 1/8 to 1/3 HP, this self-adjusting, multi-horsepower motor runs at 825 or 1075 RPM. It eliminates the need for a run capacitor, simplifying both stocking and installation. A water slinger on the shaft provides basic moisture protection. The motor is UL Recognized and includes a wiring harness with an outboard surge protector built in — a replaceable component that protects the motor investment in the event of a power surge.
The mars-10874 is intended for residential and light commercial HVAC condenser fan applications where a standard PSC motor is being replaced with a higher-efficiency ECM alternative. Installation uses the supplied programming cable to connect the motor to a 115V power source for initial setup, after which the technician selects one of four operating modes before final installation. Shaft-down mounting applies to this unit. HVAC technicians handling condenser unit service are the primary installers for this motor.
Designed as a direct ECM replacement for standard PSC condenser fan motors in residential and light commercial HVAC systems. The mars-10874 is shaft-down mount only. Wiring connects the same as a standard PSC condenser fan motor without the capacitor.
Installation should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician. Disconnect and lock out power to the condenser unit before removing the existing motor. Use the supplied programming cable and a 115V power source to select the appropriate operating mode before mounting the motor in the unit. Confirm shaft-down orientation is correct for this model prior to final installation, as shaft-up configurations require a different part number.
