The MARS mars-10856 is an ECM (electronically commutated motor) direct-drive blower motor designed for residential and light commercial HVAC air-handling applications. Rated for multi-horsepower operation from 1/4 to 1/2 HP, it runs on 120/240 volts single phase at 50/60 Hz and delivers variable speed performance across 5 selectable speeds with a nominal RPM range of 1075 variable. The motor features Bluetooth connectivity and pairs with the MARS Azure ECM app for commissioning, diagnostics, and speed adjustment without additional wiring. It is installed by licensed HVAC technicians as a direct replacement for standard ECM variable-speed and constant-torque blower motors in forced-air systems.
The mars-10856 fits belly-band mount installations using a NEMA 48 frame. It is suited for residential gas furnaces, air handlers, and fan coil units requiring variable speed or constant torque blower motor operation. The OAO (open air over) enclosure supports standard forced-air cooling environments. Bidirectional rotation (REV+FWD) allows the motor to be configured for a wide range of blower assemblies without sourcing a separate unit for shaft orientation. No capacitor is required for operation.
Designed as a direct-drive OEM-style replacement for variable speed ECM and constant torque blower motors in NEMA 48 frame belly-band mount applications. Consult the MARS Azure ECM app and motor documentation to confirm speed tap configuration before installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Disconnect and lock out all power to the air handler or furnace before removing the existing motor. Belly-band mounting hardware from the original motor is typically reused; confirm band diameter matches the NEMA 48 frame before fastening. Use the MARS Azure ECM app during commissioning to set speed profiles and verify operation in accordance with equipment manufacturer specifications.
