Mars 12905 Oval Run Capacitor 5 Mfd 370 Volt

Product Description

The MARS 12905 is a single oval run capacitor rated 5 microfarads (MFD) at 370 volts, designed for use in single-phase AC motors found in residential and light commercial HVAC equipment. Run capacitors maintain a continuous phase-shifted current to the start or run winding of a motor, improving torque and operational efficiency. The oval form factor fits most standard capacitor brackets and mounting clips used in condensing units and air handlers. HVAC technicians install this part during motor replacement service or when a failed capacitor is identified during a system diagnostic call.

This capacitor is suited for use on condenser fan motors and blower motors that require a 5 MFD, 370-volt oval-style run capacitor. It is commonly installed in residential split-system condensing units and packaged rooftop units where the original capacitor carries a matching 5X370V marking. The single-unit selling format makes it appropriate for one-for-one replacement service work. Always verify the MFD rating and voltage rating on the original capacitor before installing a replacement.

Key Features

• Rated 5 MFD at 370 volts for compatibility with standard single-phase motor circuits
• Oval form factor fits common capacitor mounting brackets and clips in HVAC equipment
• Single-unit capacitor suitable for condenser fan motor or blower motor applications
• Sold individually for direct one-for-one replacement service calls

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style replacement for HVAC motors and systems requiring a 5 MFD, 370-volt oval run capacitor. Match the MFD rating, voltage rating, and physical form factor of the original capacitor before installation.

Installation Notes

A licensed HVAC technician should perform capacitor replacement. Disconnect and lock out power to the unit before removing the access panel or touching any electrical components. Capacitors retain a charge after power is removed - discharge the capacitor safely using an approved resistor discharge tool before handling. Follow applicable NEC guidelines for low-voltage motor circuit service.
