The MALCO uc1 is a PEX tubing uncoiler designed for plumbers and hydronic installers working with polyethylene cross-linked tubing in radiant in-floor heating layouts and potable water runs. The unit ships and stores in a steel-reinforced plastic case that doubles as the base during operation. A heavy-duty turntable supports a full coil of PEX tubing, and factory-adjusted tension controls backlash to keep the coil seated on the turntable. The rotating eyelet arm lets tubing feed off in any direction. Assembly requires no tools. The entire unit weighs 50 pounds and fits neatly in a service truck or van.
The uc1 is built for residential and light commercial hydronic radiant floor installations as well as potable water rough-in work. It accommodates 1000 feet of 3/8-inch to 1/2-inch PEX or 500 feet of 5/8-inch to 1-inch PEX, covering the most common tubing sizes encountered on radiant and domestic plumbing jobs. Supported tubing types include standard PEX and PEX-AL-PEX in sizes from 5/16 inch through 1 inch. An optional wheel and handle kit is available for added jobsite mobility.
Accommodates all types of PEX and PEX-AL-PEX tubing in sizes 5/16 inch, 3/8 inch, 1/2 inch, 5/8 inch, 3/4 inch, and 1 inch, supporting up to 1000 feet of 3/8-inch to 1/2-inch tubing or 500 feet of 5/8-inch to 1-inch tubing per load.
Installation and operation is performed by licensed plumbers or hydronic heating technicians. Before beginning a radiant layout or potable water run, shut off the water supply and verify system pressure is relieved. Position the open case on a stable, flat surface as the operating base before loading the tubing coil. Follow local plumbing code and manufacturer tubing specifications for bend radius and support spacing.
