The MAGNAFLUX 01-5352-40 is a non-aqueous, solvent-based developer formulated for liquid penetrant testing (PT) across industrial and field inspection environments. Sold as SKD-S2, it applies a bright white, matte, opaque coating that blocks underlying surface color and rapidly wicks penetrant out of surface-breaking discontinuities to produce strong, high-contrast indications. The formula is non-halogenated and non-fluorescent, making it compatible with stainless steel, aluminum, magnesium, and titanium alloys. It is ready to use as supplied and dries quickly to shorten overall inspection cycle time. Licensed NDT technicians and quality inspectors in aerospace, power generation, and heavy manufacturing environments are the primary users.
SKD-S2 is suited to a wide range of Type 1 and Type 2 penetrant systems used in weld inspection, machine shop quality control, and field nondestructive testing applications. Its ISO 3452-2 conformance supports use on a broad spectrum of part geometries and base materials. Approvals from major aerospace primes including Boeing, GE, and Honeywell make it a direct fit for regulated inspection programs. It is listed on the QPL SAE AMS 2644 Qualified Product List and meets ASME, ASTM, MIL-STD, and NAVSEA requirements, giving it broad applicability across nuclear, military, and commercial inspection procedures.
Compatible with Type 1 and Type 2 liquid penetrants. Approved for use under Boeing BAC 5423 PSD 6-46 or 8-4, Boeing PS-21202, GE P3TF2, GE P50YP107, and Honeywell EMS 52309. Meets AECL, AMS 2644, ASME BPVC, ASTM E1417, ASTM E165, ISO 3452-2, MIL-STD-2132, MIL-STD-271, NAVSEA 250-1500-1, and NAVSEA T9074-AS-GIB-010/271 requirements.
Applied by licensed NDT or quality-control personnel following written inspection procedures. The test surface must be clean and dry before developer application. Apply in a thin, uniform coat and allow the developer to fully dry before reading indications. Follow all applicable safety data sheet guidance for ventilation and PPE when using solvent-based aerosols in enclosed or field environments.
