The MAGAFOR 88860007930 is a solid carbide chucking reamer engineered for precision hole finishing in machining applications. With a reamer diameter of 0.3122 inches (5/16 inch nominal) and a diameter tolerance of 0.0002 inches, this tool delivers tight, repeatable bore sizing in a single pass. The 4.610-inch overall length and 1.299-inch flute length make it well suited for through-hole and shallow blind-hole operations. Six flutes with a left-hand spiral and right-hand cutting direction reduce chatter and produce a smooth, accurate finish. It is installed and operated by machinists and toolroom professionals on CNC machining centers and manual drill presses alike.
This reamer is designed for use in production and job-shop environments where hole diameter accuracy and surface finish are critical. The Series 8600 designation places it within MAGAFOR's standard solid carbide reamer line, appropriate for ferrous and non-ferrous materials where carbide wear resistance outperforms high-speed steel. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into standard collet chucks and drill chucks without adapters, making it a straightforward drop-in for most setups requiring a 5/16-inch finished bore.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chucking reamer for use in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and drill presses equipped with standard collet or drill chuck tooling that accepts a straight-cylindrical shank in the 5/16-inch diameter class.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with rotating cutting tools and machine tool safety practices. Always bring the spindle to a complete stop and confirm the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing or inspecting the reamer. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully within the collet or chuck to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth before running. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant compatible with the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain bore quality.
