The MAGAFOR 88860007150 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in machining applications. Built from solid carbide with a bright polished finish, it delivers consistent dimensional accuracy and extended tool life compared to HSS alternatives. The reamer measures 0.2815 inches in diameter with an overall length of 4-9/32 inches and a flute length of 1-7/32 inches. It features 6 spiral flutes with left-hand spiral geometry and right-hand cutting direction, a combination that reduces chatter and improves chip evacuation in through-hole and blind-hole finishing operations. Machinists and tool-room technicians select this reamer when tight bore tolerances are required.
This chucking reamer is suited for use in CNC machining centers, manual lathes, and drill presses where finish reaming to close tolerances is required. The straight shank allows direct mounting in standard drill chucks, collet chucks, and floating holders. It is appropriate for ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a polished carbide cutting edge provides the surface finish and dimensional control the application demands. The 0.2815-inch diameter falls within the 0.2500 to 0.2999-inch range, making it a standard selection for 7.15 mm bore finishing work.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in machining setups requiring a 0.2815-inch finished bore diameter; compatible with any machine tool spindle accepting a straight-shank tool of this diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tool-room technician. Ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured and the spindle is at a complete stop before loading or removing the reamer. Use a floating holder where possible to compensate for minor misalignment and protect the cutting edges. Carbide reamers are brittle and should not be subjected to side loads or used for stock removal beyond the intended finishing allowance.
