The MAGAFOR 88860003140 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in tight-tolerance machining applications. Part of the Series 8600 line, it features a 0.1236-inch cutting diameter with a tolerance of plus or minus 0.0002 inches, making it appropriate for work where bore accuracy is critical. The reamer has an overall length of 2.25 inches, a flute length of 0.5938 inches, and a straight-cylindrical shank for use in standard collet chucks and drill press setups. With 6 spiral flutes and a right-hand cutting direction, this tool delivers a clean, accurate finish bore on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It arrives in a bright, uncoated finish with no coolant-through capability.
This chucking reamer is suited for precision finishing passes in production or toolroom environments where small-diameter bore tolerances must be held consistently. It fits applications in aerospace, automotive, hydraulic component, and general machining shops where a 0.1236-inch finished bore diameter is required. The straight-cylindrical shank mounts readily in collet chucks, ER toolholders, or keyed drill chucks. It is intended for use on CNC machining centers, knee mills, or drill presses by machinists and tool-and-die professionals performing finish reaming operations after drilling or boring to near-net size.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer for use in any machine spindle accepting a straight-cylindrical shank of the appropriate diameter. Refer to the 0.1236-inch shank dimension when selecting collets, chucks, or toolholders for this application.
Chucking reamers should be installed by a qualified machinist familiar with precision cutting tool setups. Ensure the spindle and workpiece are fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Pre-drill or bore the workpiece to within approximately 0.005 to 0.015 inches of the finished diameter before reaming - do not ream from a raw drilled hole unless the drill-to-reamer stock removal is appropriate for the material. Secure the shank fully in the collet or chuck to minimize runout, as excessive runout will degrade bore tolerance and accelerate tool wear.
