The MAGAFOR 88860001180 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in tight-tolerance machining applications. Built with a straight shank and 4 spiral flutes with left-hand spiral geometry and right-hand cutting direction, this reamer delivers a controlled, smooth finish in pre-drilled bores. The reamer diameter is 0.0465 inches, sized to wire gauge #56, with a diameter tolerance of 0.0000 to +0.0003 mm for exacting fitment. The bright polished finish reduces friction and aids chip evacuation. Machinists and toolroom technicians working with small-diameter precision bores rely on this tool type for final sizing before press-fit or bearing installation.
This chucking reamer is suited for use in machining centers, CNC lathes, and drill presses where a collet or drill chuck holds the straight shank. The 0.0465-inch diameter makes it appropriate for wire-gauge-size bores commonly found in instrument components, small mechanical assemblies, fluid control bodies, and precision fixtures. The overall length of 1-9/16 inches and flute length of 25/64 inches make it practical for shallow-to-moderate depth reaming in compact workpieces. Solid carbide construction supports use in harder workpiece materials where high-speed steel tooling would wear prematurely.
Designed as an OEM-style precision chucking reamer for use in standard straight-shank collet systems and drill chucks on CNC machining centers, manual mills, lathes, and drill presses accepting the straight shank diameter.
Chucking reamers are installed and operated by machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the straight shank firmly in a matched collet or drill chuck before use and verify runout is within acceptable limits before engaging the workpiece. Always ream at appropriate speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and use cutting fluid compatible with carbide tooling. Do not use this reamer to remove excessive stock; pre-drill or bore the hole to within a few thousandths of final size before reaming.
