The MAGAFOR 88819604000 is a solid carbide spotting drill designed to create accurate center points and chamfered pilot holes before finish drilling operations. Manufactured from K15-grade solid carbide, it features a 120-degree drill point angle, a 2-flute spiral flute geometry, and a bright uncoated finish. The cutting diameter measures 0.1575 inches (4.00 mm) with a matching straight-cylindrical shank diameter of 0.1575 inches. Overall length is 2 inches. A web-thinned point reduces thrust and improves centering accuracy on flat and curved workpiece surfaces. This tool is intended for use by machinists and toolroom technicians on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills.
This spotting drill is suited for general-purpose spotting and chamfering operations in a wide range of materials including steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys. The K15 carbide grade provides the hardness and edge retention required for production-volume drilling environments. With a 0.5-inch flute length, it is optimized for shallow spotting passes where rigidity and positional accuracy are the primary requirements. It fits standard tool holders and collet chucks accepting a 0.1575-inch straight shank, making it practical for quick changeover on multi-operation setups.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose spotting drill for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual milling machines accepting a 0.1575-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. Secure the shank in a properly sized collet or drill chuck and verify runout before beginning production. Machinists should follow shop safety protocols and applicable OSHA machine guarding requirements when setting up rotating cutting tools. Do not exceed the recommended speed and feed parameters for the workpiece material and tool diameter.
