The MAGAFOR 88819502000 is a solid carbide spotting drill designed to create precise center marks and entry points for follow-on drilling operations. Built to Series 8195 specifications, it features a 90-degree point angle and a 2 mm (0.0787 inch) cutting diameter, making it well suited for accurately locating holes before drilling to final size. The bright, uncoated K15-grade carbide construction provides the rigidity and edge retention needed when working with non-ferrous metals, cast iron, and general-purpose workpiece materials. It is sized for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual milling machines where consistent spot depth and angular accuracy are required.
This spotting drill is intended for general-purpose shop use in both production and job-shop environments. The compact 1.5625-inch overall length and straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard collet chucks and small-capacity tool holders. Its web-thinned geometry reduces thrust load at entry, which helps maintain positional accuracy on flat and slightly curved surfaces. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC setup technicians are the primary users of this tool.
Designed as a general-purpose spotting drill compatible with standard straight-bore collet chucks and drill chucks sized for a 2 mm (0.0787 inch) shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Secure the straight cylindrical shank firmly in a collet or drill chuck before operation, and verify runout with an indicator before beginning a production run. Always bring spindle speed and feed rate in line with the carbide grade and workpiece material recommendations in the applicable machining data reference. Solid carbide tools are brittle and should not be used in machines with excessive spindle runout or backlash, as lateral loading can cause chipping or breakage.
