The MAGAFOR 81195020000 is a spotting drill designed to create accurate center-start locations for follow-up drilling operations. Ground from Cobalt M-35 (HSS-E) material, it delivers better heat and wear resistance than standard high-speed steel, making it well suited to harder workpiece materials. The 90-degree point angle promotes precise spot placement with minimal wander. At 2 inches overall length with a 0.315-inch flute length, this is a compact, rigid tool built for controlled depth spotting in both production and job-shop environments. A bright, uncoated finish keeps the tool ready to use straight from the package.
This drill is intended for general-purpose spotting and center-drilling applications on metalworking lathes, machining centers, and drill presses. The 2 mm cutting diameter and matching 2 mm straight-cylindrical shank fit standard drill chucks and collets without adaptation. Machinists and CNC operators use spotting drills like this one to eliminate drill walk and improve hole-location accuracy before running a twist drill or boring operation. The right-hand cutting direction is compatible with conventional spindle rotation on virtually all machine tools.
Designed as a general-purpose spotting drill for use in standard drill chucks and collets accepting a 2 mm straight-cylindrical shank on CNC machining centers, manual mills, drill presses, and lathes.
Secure the shank fully within the chuck or collet to the recommended grip depth before operation. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling per standard shop safety practice. Spotting drills are not intended for deep-hole drilling - use this tool only for creating a starting cone at the hole location, then follow with a standard twist drill at full depth. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use, particularly when machining hardened or abrasive materials.
