The MAG-MATE MX2508RL is a neodymium rare earth cup magnet designed for heavy-duty holding, retrieval, and mounting applications in trade and industrial environments. Built around a neodymium core housed in a galvanized steel cup, it delivers 100 pounds of average and maximum pull force from a compact 2.63-inch diameter body. The overall height is 2.25 inches with a cup height of 0.375 inches. The integrated loop-style bail with a 0.5-inch inside diameter allows direct attachment to hooks, cables, wire rope, or carabiner-style hardware. Electricians, plumbers, HVAC techs, and general contractors use this type of magnet for fishing wire, lifting ferrous fasteners, and securing components during installation.
This cup magnet is suited for both residential and light commercial job site use. Common applications include retrieving dropped ferrous hardware in tight spaces, hanging tools or fixtures from steel structural members, and anchoring temporary cable or conduit runs. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance appropriate for damp or outdoor-adjacent environments such as mechanical rooms, crawlspaces, and exterior utility areas. The loop configuration makes it compatible with a wide range of rigging and hanging accessories already found on service vehicles and job carts.
Designed as a general-purpose neodymium cup magnet suitable for ferrous metal surfaces in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general construction service applications.
No power source or wiring is required for this passive permanent magnet. Verify the target surface is ferrous steel or iron before relying on rated pull force, as non-ferrous metals will not hold. Keep the magnet away from electronic control boards, sensors, variable frequency drives, and other magnetically sensitive equipment during use. Handle with care near other magnets and ferrous components, as strong attraction can cause pinch injuries.
