The MADISON ELECTRIC MSB2G is a 2-gang PVC molded wall box built for electricians working in new and old work installations. Constructed from extra-thick polyvinyl chloride, the one-piece molded body delivers the rigidity and dimensional stability needed when final wall surfaces are still undetermined. The MSB2G features 42-pound interior mounting screws that allow depth adjustment to accommodate tile, paneling, and other specialty wall finishes. Because it always mounts directly to a stud, it is equally suited for new construction rough-in and retrofit work without requiring additional blocking or bracing.
The MSB2G is designed for residential and light commercial electrical installations where a standard swing-a-hammer approach is impractical. It fits wall framing applications where access is tight or where surface materials like tile or thick paneling require a box that can be fine-tuned for depth after the finish is applied. Licensed electricians installing switches, receptacles, or low-voltage devices in wood or metal stud framing will find this box a practical fit for both rough-in and finish stages of the work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-work wall box for standard 2-gang residential and light commercial switch and receptacle installations in wood or 25-gauge metal stud framing.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits at the panel before pulling conductors or securing devices in the box. Use the built-in depth-adjustment screws to set the correct flush depth relative to the finished wall surface before securing devices. Verify that all wire clamps are engaged and that no conductor insulation is pinched at the box entry points prior to closing up the wall.
