The MACOMB GROUP APPROVED 882-020C is a Schedule 80 CPVC threaded nipple designed for use in high-temperature and corrosive fluid piping systems. Measuring 1/2 inch nominal diameter by 2 inches in length, it features male iron pipe thread (MIPT) connections on both ends and is molded from CPVC material meeting ASTM D1784 Type IV Grade I Cell Class 23447. With a temperature rating of 200 degrees F, this nipple is well suited for hot water, chemical process, and industrial plumbing applications where standard PVC would fall short. It carries NSF and LPCB certification for added assurance in regulated installations.
This nipple is intended for use in residential and commercial plumbing systems, chemical distribution lines, and industrial process piping where elevated temperatures or corrosive media are present. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install Schedule 80 CPVC fittings in both new construction and retrofit applications. The gray color and Schedule 80 wall thickness provide a clear visual distinction from Schedule 40 components on the job site.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems using 1/2 inch MIPT threaded connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before disassembling any threaded connections. Use thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for CPVC and do not overtighten, as CPVC fittings can crack under excessive torque. Solvent cement is not applicable to threaded nipple ends.
