The MACOMB GROUP APPROVED 660-HB is a MiniRester-style water hammer arrester designed to eliminate pressure spikes caused by fast-closing valves in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. Built from 304 stainless steel with an EPDM sealing ring, it handles up to 250 psi working pressure and 250 degrees F operating temperature. The unit measures 5 inches in overall length and connects via a female swivel hose thread inlet and a male hose thread tee outlet. Licensed plumbers and HVAC service technicians install this device as a direct inline solution to protect piping, appliances, and fixtures from water hammer damage.
This arrester is suited for residential and light commercial applications where hose-connected appliances such as washing machines, dishwashers, or solenoid-valve-fed equipment generate pressure transients. The tee configuration allows the arrester to branch off the supply line without interrupting flow. The AA unit size classification aligns with standard sizing charts based on fixture unit load. It is appropriate for new construction and retrofit installations where hose thread connections are already in place.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation water hammer arrester for residential and light commercial plumbing systems using 3/4 inch hose thread connections, sized AA per ASSE 1010 fixture unit tables.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the Uniform Plumbing Code and applicable local amendments. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before connecting or disconnecting the arrester. The swivel hose thread inlet allows hand-tight positioning before final wrench tightening - do not overtighten threaded hose connections. Verify the installation meets ASSE 1010 placement guidelines for proximity to the source valve.
