The MACOMB GROUP APPROVED 400250404SERI is a 4 x 2.5 inch eccentric buttweld reducer manufactured from 304 stainless steel to Schedule 40 wall thickness. It is designed to transition pipe diameters while maintaining a flat bottom alignment, which is critical for drainage and flow control in process and industrial piping systems. The fitting meets ASTM A403 and ASME SA403/SA403M material standards and conforms to ANSI B16.9 dimensional requirements. The overall length is 4 inches. Pipefitters and welding professionals working on stainless steel process lines, chemical systems, and industrial fluid handling installations are the primary installers of this fitting.
This eccentric reducer is suited for Schedule 40 stainless steel piping systems in industrial, commercial, and process environments where a 4 inch to 2.5 inch diameter transition is required. The eccentric design keeps one side of the pipe run level, making it the correct choice for horizontal runs where air pocketing or solids accumulation must be avoided. It is an import fitting produced to recognized ANSI B16.9 and ASTM A403 standards, making it appropriate for use in general industrial piping where those specifications are called out.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 40 stainless steel buttweld piping systems requiring a 4 x 2.5 inch eccentric reducer conforming to ANSI B16.9.
Installation must be performed by a qualified pipefitter or certified welder familiar with stainless steel buttweld fittings and applicable codes including ASME B31.3 for process piping. Depressurize and drain the system completely before cutting into an existing line. Use tooling and consumables appropriate for 304 stainless steel to avoid carbon contamination of the weld zone. Follow the applicable piping code for weld procedure qualification and inspection requirements.
