The MACOMB GROUP APPROVED 1829-167 is a Schedule 80 CPVC reducing coupling designed to transition pipe flow from a 1-1/4 inch line down to a 3/4 inch line using socket weld connections on both ends. Manufactured from Corzan CPVC and molded to meet ASTM D1784 Type IV Grade I Cell Class 23447 and ASTM F439, this fitting handles continuous service up to 210 degrees F. The gray Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added pressure capacity compared to Schedule 40 fittings, making it a reliable choice for demanding fluid handling systems installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters.
This reducing coupling is suited for chemical processing, industrial piping, and commercial plumbing systems where hot or corrosive fluids are conveyed through thermoplastic piping. The socket weld design allows solvent cement jointing, a standard technique for CPVC pressure piping. It carries NSF/ANSI Standard 14 and 61 Annex G listings, qualifying it for use in potable water systems as well as industrial fluid service where certified materials are required by specification or code.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 CPVC socket weld piping systems using 1-1/4 inch and 3/4 inch nominal pipe sizes.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with solvent cement procedures for CPVC pressure piping. Depressurize and drain the system fully before cutting into existing lines. Use only CPVC-rated solvent cement and primer as specified by the cement manufacturer and applicable codes such as the IPC or IFGC. Allow full cure time before returning the system to service or applying pressure.
