The M.A. FORD. CDACRM0640 is a solid carbide jobber-length twist drill designed for precision hole-making in demanding production and maintenance applications. Built to DIN 6537L specification, it features a 142-degree split-point geometry that reduces walking and thrust load at entry. The 6.40 mm (0.2520 inch) diameter, two-flute helical design evacuates chips efficiently, while the bright/uncoated finish suits a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. Coolant-through capability allows internal coolant delivery directly to the cutting edge, extending tool life in high-speed or deep-hole drilling operations. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance professionals working with CNC machining centers or drill presses will find this drill well-suited to consistent, repeatable results.
This jobber drill is appropriate for use in metalworking environments including job shops, manufacturing facilities, and MRO operations. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides adequate flute length for most standard jobber-depth holes. The straight-cylindrical shank at 8.00 mm (0.3150 inch) diameter seats securely in standard drill chucks or collet holders. It is suited to materials where a solid carbide substrate outperforms high-speed steel, such as hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, and aluminum alloys at elevated cutting speeds.
Designed as a DIN 6537L jobber-length drill for use in standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet systems accepting an 8.00 mm shank diameter, within the 6.00 mm to 7.00 mm drill bit size range class.
Installation and use of this drill should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC or manual drilling equipment. Verify that the machine spindle, chuck, or collet holder is clean and properly rated for the shank diameter before seating the tool. When using coolant-through capability, confirm that the machine tool coolant system pressure and flow rate are appropriate for the drill diameter and material being cut. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use and replace the drill if damage is observed.
