The M.A. FORD. CDACRM0480 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in demanding production and maintenance environments. Built to DIN 6537L specification, it features a 142-degree point angle optimized for work on hard or abrasive materials where a steeper point geometry improves centering and reduces thrust. The bright, uncoated finish keeps tolerances tight and suits applications where coating buildup or contamination is a concern. With a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and through-coolant capability, this drill is suited for CNC machining centers and production drilling operations where heat and chip evacuation are critical factors. Machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and maintenance technicians in metal fabrication environments are the primary users.
This drill bit is sized at 4.80 mm in diameter, equivalent to 0.1890 decimal inches, placing it in the 4.00 mm to 5.00 mm diameter range. It is well suited for precision drilling in steel, cast iron, hardened alloys, and similar materials on CNC machining centers or manual machines equipped with coolant delivery. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 6.00 mm diameter allows direct clamping in standard drill chucks or collet holders without adapters. The helical flute design and right-hand cutting direction make it a drop-in fit for conventional drilling setups.
Designed as an OEM-specification jobber drill conforming to DIN 6537L, suitable for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses equipped with standard straight-cylindrical shank toolholders accepting a 6.00 mm shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine fully powered down and in a locked-out state per applicable safety procedures. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a collet chuck or drill chuck rated for the intended spindle speed before operation. Through-coolant passages should be cleared and confirmed open before engaging the tool in a coolant-fed spindle. Proper speeds and feeds for the workpiece material should be verified against the tooling manufacturer's recommendations before cutting.
