The M.A. FORD 79300002 is a single-end, 6-flute countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations on a wide range of materials. Built from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, it features an 82-degree included angle and a 3-inch head diameter. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 3/4 inch in diameter, and the tool runs to an overall length of 5.25 inches. Right-hand cutting geometry makes it compatible with standard spindle rotation on milling machines, drill presses, and CNC machining centers. No pilot is included, and the tip nose diameter is 1 inch. This tool is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production or job-shop environments.
This countersink is suited for chamfering fastener holes and deburring edges in both manual and CNC setups. Its multi-flute design provides smooth cutting action across a broad material range including mild steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, Monel, and plastics. The 82-degree included angle corresponds to the standard aerospace and commercial fastener countersink geometry, making it a practical choice for structural and precision assembly work.
Designed for use in standard drill press chucks, milling machine collets, and CNC tool holders accepting a 3/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring in alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel workpieces.
Install this countersink in a machine spindle or drill press using a chuck or collet rated for the 3/4-inch straight shank diameter. Ensure the machine is fully powered down and the spindle is locked before changing tooling. Set spindle speed appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter before beginning any cut. Secure the workpiece firmly before operation to prevent movement during countersinking.
