The M.A. FORD. 79200002 is a single-end, 6-flute countersink designed for precision chamfering, countersinking, and deburring across a wide range of materials. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright/uncoated finish, it delivers consistent cutting performance without the added cost of a coating. The 2 inch head diameter and 82-degree included angle (41-degree centerline angle) make it well suited for standard flat-head fastener seating applications. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.75 inches in diameter and the tool runs 3.75 inches overall length. No pilot is included. Right-hand cutting direction only.
This countersink is appropriate for job-shop machining, maintenance and repair operations, and production work where a reliable HSS tool handles the material mix. Compatible material applications include alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel. The 82-degree angle is the standard for flat-head machine screws under ASME specifications, making this a common choice for aerospace and general metalworking setups. Sold individually as a single unit with a minimum order quantity of one.
Designed for use in drill presses, milling machines, and CNC machining centers accepting a 0.75 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations in alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel workpieces.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool-and-die professionals using standard drill press, mill, or CNC toolholding equipment. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a collet or drill chuck before use to prevent runout. Pre-drill the pilot hole to the correct diameter before countersinking - this tool does not include a pilot. Always bring spindle to a stop before changing or inspecting tooling, and follow applicable shop safety procedures for rotating cutting tools.
