The M.A. FORD. 79150006 is a single-end, 6-flute countersink manufactured from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish. It features a 120-degree included angle and a 1-1/2-inch head diameter, making it well suited for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations across a wide range of workpiece materials. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 3/4 inches in diameter, and the tool runs 3-1/2 inches in overall length. A tip nose diameter of 0.430 inches ensures clean entry. Right-hand cutting direction and HSS construction make this a durable, general-purpose countersink for machine shop and fabrication environments.
This countersink is designed for use on manual mills, CNC machining centers, drill presses, and similar rotary equipment. Its material compatibility spans a broad spectrum: alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. It does not include a pilot and is sold as a head-and-shank assembly, not a head-only unit. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this type of countersink for production chamfering and screw-seat preparation in both one-off and repeat-run applications.
Designed as a general-purpose countersink for use on alloy steel, mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, Monel, aluminum, brass, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic workpieces in standard machining setups.
This tool is installed by machinists or tool operators into a compatible 3/4-inch collet, end mill holder, or drill chuck. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the countersink. Set spindle speed according to the workpiece material and tool diameter using standard HSS speed-and-feed references. Avoid excessive feed pressure, which can cause chatter or premature edge wear on harder materials.
