The M.A. FORD. 79125006 is a 6-flute, single-end countersink designed for chamfering, countersinking, and deburring operations across a wide range of materials. Built from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool features a 120-degree included angle and a 1.25-inch head diameter. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.5 inches in diameter, with a 0.370-inch tip nose diameter and a 3-inch overall length. It is suited for use in manual or machine setups and is typically installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance professionals working in fabrication or production environments.
This countersink is engineered for right-hand cutting and performs across a broad material range including mild steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, high-tensile steel, high-nickel steel, cast iron, Monel, brass, aluminum, magnesium, magnesium alloy, and plastic. Its 6-flute design provides smooth, chatter-resistant cutting action, making it appropriate for both production-volume countersinking and precision deburring tasks in light manufacturing, job shop, and maintenance-repair settings.
Designed as an OEM-style countersink for use with standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 0.5-inch shank. Suitable for use on alloy steel, aluminum, brass, cast iron, high-nickel steel, high-tensile steel, magnesium, magnesium alloy, mild steel, Monel, plastic, and stainless steel workpieces.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet holder rated for the intended spindle speed before use. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool. Do not exceed the recommended spindle speed for the workpiece material, and inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use.
